In-Between explores the fluidity of identity and the collective process of meaning-making. It invites participants to experience three stages. First, viewers respond to the question, “Who are you?” by writing words-adjectives, nouns, verbs, or any resonant expressions. These fragments of identity are then used in the second stage, where participants collectively answer, “Who are we?” by arranging and layering the words left by others onto an overhead projector, forming a changing poem. The final stage invites them to read their poem aloud, contributing to an ongoing archive of voices that capture the shared identity.
In-Between transforms individual expression into a communal creation, highlighting the interplay between personal narratives and collective consciousness. The interactive structure dissolves fixed authorship, emphasizing the fluid and emergent nature of identity. As words shift and overlap, the installation underscores the impermanence of definitions and the p
ower of reinterpretation. In-Between is both intimate and expansive, embracing ambiguity as a space of creation, dialogue, and discovery.
